Where We Work
San Francisco
Our home base. Lot-line excavations, shared walls, steep streets, bay fill, and dune sand make San Francisco one of the most demanding places to build below grade. We plan demolition, shoring, and excavation around tight lots and busy streets. Learn more about our San Francisco services.
Marin County
Steep hillside lots, narrow roads, soft bay mud near the shoreline, and town-by-town review. Hillside excavation, shoring, soil nails, and helical piles are common needs from Mill Valley and Sausalito to San Rafael and Novato. Learn more about our Marin County services.
East Bay
Infill and redevelopment sites in Oakland and Berkeley, hillside homes in the Oakland and Berkeley hills, bay fill along the shoreline, and expansive clays in the inland valleys of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Learn more about our East Bay services.
Sonoma County
Residential and commercial projects across Sonoma County, with excavation, grading, foundations, and utility work planned around hillside and valley ground conditions.
Napa County
Site work for residential and commercial projects in Napa Valley and the surrounding hills, including excavation, grading, retaining walls, and utilities.
Sacramento
Excavation, utilities, grading, and concrete for projects in the Sacramento region, where flatter terrain brings its own challenges such as groundwater, drainage, and large-site earthwork.
Monterey
Projects on the Monterey Peninsula and around Monterey Bay, where coastal sites, sandy soils, and hillside lots shape excavation, shoring, and foundation work.
What We Do in Every Area
Demolition
Building, selective, interior, and site demolition, with recycling of materials whenever possible and a clean, site-ready handoff.
Excavation and Grading
Basement, foundation, mass, and hillside excavation, plus grading for pads, roads, and drainage.
Shoring, Soil Nails and Underpinning
Excavation and structural shoring, including soldier pile and lagging, tiebacks, rakers, underpinning, and soil nail walls.
Helical Piles
Helical piles for foundations, additions, and underpinning, especially where access is tight, vibration is a concern, or soils are soft.
Underground Utilities
Water, sewer, storm drain, and dry utility installation, including laterals and service connections.
Concrete
Structural and decorative concrete for foundations, retaining walls, slabs, and flatwork.
Why One Contractor Across the Site Work
On most projects, demolition, shoring, excavation, utilities, and foundations overlap. LVI Engineering keeps those scopes with one team, so there are fewer handoffs, one schedule, and one point of responsibility from teardown to foundation. In addition to our role as a general contractor, we can lead or support preconstruction, design-build, design-build-assist, and other alternative delivery projects.
LVI Engineering carries forward a family legacy of craftsmanship that began in the 1970s, and our safety mission is the same on every job: plan the work in advance, put the right controls in place, and aim for a zero incident rate.
